S.400 – Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum,

1071 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York

Photography is permitted only on the ground floor.  Take the elevator to the top floor, and walk down the spiral floor to the ground level as Frank intended.  Walking uphill is for the uninitiated.  When I visited, the outside was undergoing renovations. How could I have missed taking the classic exterior shot anyway?

Photographed November 14, 2007.

The museum was reproduced in miniature at Legoland Florida (left) & Legoland California (right)

The museum has twice been featured as a Lego model for the general public – a simplified version and a later 744-piece project in the Architecture series. The later model is shown here.
