S.238 – Johnson Research Tower,
1525 Howe Street, Racine, Wisconsin S.237 – Main building - S.237A – 1951 additions - Furniture Built in 1944 next to the Johnson Wax
headquarters (S.237). The tower had only one fire exit and did
not comply with later building codes.
The company did not want to change Wright’s design, and decided to
abandon – but keep – the building. In
2014 the tower was opened for regular public tours. Photographed on May 10 & 11, 2012. |
