S.158 – William H. Copeland Residence alterations, 400 Forest Avenue, Oak Park, Illinois William Copeland hired his neighbor (Wright) to perform renovations on his stable (S.159), and a year later on this 1875 home. Copeland rejected more drastic changes to the roofline and moves to reduce give the house a more horizontal look. Most renovations were done to the interior, so – like many early renovations projects – I am not sure the exterior reveals any Wrightisms. Photographed on January 26, 2014.
