Medical Clinic, 8091 West 8th Street (State Route
55), Hastings, Minnesota Photographed on May 15, 2012. Hastings is about half an hour from St.
Paul, and is situated where the St. Croix River flows into the
Mississippi. This office was
originally operated as a medical clinic.
Since 1992 it has been an Edward Jones investment office. Due to financial limitations, the original
roof – intended to be copper – was made of tin and painted to simulate
copper. When the new owners moved in,
they replaced the tin roof with copper.
The original design also included windows facing 8th Street. As built, the only window on that face was
the one in the main entry door. Original sketches are displayed in the
waiting room. The office is open
during regular businesses hours, and the owners and employees are very
gracious about allowing photographs and answering questions.
