S.284 – Lowell & Agnes Walter
Residence – “Cedar Rock” Cedar Rock State Park, Quasqueton, Iowa Interior & Furniture With the exception
of some kitchen appliances, the original furniture was kept intact when the
house was donated to the state. Seats
were reupholstered using the original loom (which had to be reactivated when
other processes were unable to weave the metallic threads into the
fabric). The dining room table is in
separate parts that join together using curved edges that mimic the roofline.
Unique to this
house: Wright commissioned a space-saving fold-away bathroom from the Pullman
Company (makers of the famous railway cars). Interior
photography is permitted during tours.
Photographed on September 10, 2017. Opus: T4505 Tourist information literature (PDF) |
